  • Hope For Food Collection

    Tue 19 Mar 2019

A huge THANK YOU and WELL DONE to everyone who contributed to the Hope For Food collection last week. We did an amazing job, collecting over 500 items of food and drink to support the charity's work in our local community.

They were thrilled this morning when they came to collect our donations.

    Thank you again.

  • World Book Day

    Thu 07 Mar 2019

    It's World Book Day!

The children (and staff!) look fantastic in their costumes. Thank you to everyone for all their efforts sourcing costumes. The children are enjoying their day of book-related activities and have already loved sharing books with their buddies and partner classes.

Children will each be bringing a special WBD £1 token home. These can be used to reduce the price of books or can be swapped for the special £1 WBD texts... see books and check Ts&Cs here https://www.worldbookday.com/books/

    Happy reading everyone!

  • Shrove Tuesday

    Tue 05 Mar 2019

Today we are celebrating the Christian tradition of using up rich/fatty/sweet foods in preparation for Lent.

We offered each child a pancake as their dessert for lunch today, which they thoroughly enjoyed!

  • 'Love our community!' food collection

    Mon 04 Mar 2019

Next week, w/c 11 March, is our Religious Education Week commencing Monday. The theme is ‘love our community’.

Each Year group will be making links between a faith story or text and how people live in community.
The children will have a chance to ask a visitor how they put their beliefs into practice in our community. Pupils will also reflect on the needs of their local and global community and articulate their own responses.
Reception will be thinking about Creation and they will be making an art collage. We would be very happy to receive donations of materials such as bottle tops, card and paper.

Hope for Food is a Bournemouth based charity that provides soup kitchens and food packages in our local community for vulnerable or homeless families. We have been in contact with Hope for Food to see what they are in need of. If you would like to donate, please do but it is not compulsory. Let’s see how much we can collect!

Each Year group has been assigned something to bring in. Please bring your items into your class by Thursday the 15 March at 8:30am.

    Reception: Cereal
    Year 1: Rice and pasta
Year 2: Biscuits - sweet and savoury
Year 3: Long life milk and sugar
    Year 4: Tea and coffee
Year 5: Sauce for pasta / stirfry / curry
Year 6: Tinned food - pasta, veg, meat and fish
    Staff: Squash and fruit juice

    Thank you!
