  • Reception Next Steps meeting slides

    Mon 15 Oct 2018

Thank you to all parents who attended Friday’s Reception Next Steps meeting.

We really value our partnerships with parents and this home-school contact is very important to us.

We hope you found the meeting useful and informative. Below is a link to the presentation slides and links to phonics videos which you can use to support your child’s reading at home.

If you have any queries, please see your child’s class teacher.

Presentation slides can be found here:

  • Allergy awareness for children

    Fri 05 Oct 2018

With recent news coverage of the seriousness of anaphylactic allergies, we are sharing some age-appropriate advice with the children next week on caring for their peers and others who suffer from these acute sensitivities.

There is further advice available online, including these US resources:

    https://www.foodallergy.org/education-awareness/be-a-pal

    https://www.kyledine.com/store.html

Can we remind parents that we have several children with acute sensitivities and are therefore a NUT-FREE school. Please be mindful of this when preparing snacks and packed lunches.

  • Questions, concerns or queries?

    Fri 05 Oct 2018

Please do pop and talk to us if you have any queries, questions or concerns. Usually, the class teacher will be the first port of call and it is best to catch them on the gate at the end of the day.
If you need to pass a message in the morning, please pop in to the office and pop a note in the post box. Alternatively, send any queries by email to parentmail@st-marks.bournemouth.sch.uk.
You can also have a word with Mrs Burn and Mr Bright on the doors in the mornings, or Mrs Biles and Mrs Nickols, who are our parent support workers. If you ever have a safeguarding concern, please ask to speak to Mrs Burn, Mr Bright or Mrs Brewer.

In addition to these options, Mr Bright runs a regular ‘parent surgery’ – this is a drop-in session and is open to any parent. The next parent surgery is on Wednesday 10 October between 8:40-9:30am. No appointment necessary, just drop into the office and sign in.
