  • World Thinking Day photos

    Tue 23 Feb 2016

It has been fantastic to see so many of our children wearing their uniformed organisation uniforms today. Children were invited to wear their full uniform to school on Tuesday 23 February 2016 to celebrate the World Thinking Day on Monday 22 February (which was a staff training day).

World Thinking Day is celebrated annually worldwide within Scouting and Girl Guiding. The date was chosen because it was the joint birthday for both Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scout Movement, and Olave Baden-Powell, who was World Chief Guide. This is a special annual day when Girl Guides and Scouts around the world think of each other and express their thanks and appreciation for our International Movement.

Well done to everyone for taking the time to support World Thinking Day.

  • Y5 staffing changes - fond farewell and a warm welcome

    Fri 12 Feb 2016

We are really sad to say goodbye to Miss Alldis today as she leaves St Mark's to go traveling. She has been a valued member of staff and been an inspiration to many a Year 5 class. We are sure that you will join us in wishing her all the best for the future.

We will be welcoming Mrs Walker to St Mark's as she starts after half term - she is an experienced teacher, new to the school and will teach the Year 5 class on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning. We also welcome back Mrs Bonds who will teach the rest of the week.

  • Pancake Day recipes and more...

    Mon 08 Feb 2016

Tuesday 9th February is Shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as Pancake Day.

This is a day when Christians traditionally use up richer, fatty foods before the fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday and continues until Easter Day. Christians often 'give something up' for Lent - for example, chocolate. What could you give up this year for Lent?
