  • Our Parent Support Workers

    Fri 22 Sep 2017

We would like to introduce our Parent Support Workers to those who have not met them before: They are Mrs Nickols and Mrs Biles. They are Teaching Assistants who are on the doors in the mornings as Parent Support Workers and to welcome your children into school. They are available from 8.30-9 am daily, should you have any concerns you wish to discuss regarding your child/children, or family situation.

Mrs Nickols is on the lower school door (alongside Mrs Burn) and this year is working in Reception and is the Nurture Group Leader. Mrs Biles is on the upper school door (alongside Mr Bright) and works in school as our ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and Nurture Group Assistant. They have both worked at St Mark's for many years and built up superb supporting relationships with our children.

    Please come and say hello!

  • ParentView negative responses

    Mon 11 Sep 2017

    Dear parents,

We are saddened and disappointed by a number of negative responses left on the Parent View website over the weekend. We are very concerned about impact on the morale of the staff who work so hard for your children every day; we are also worried about the negative effect this feedback may have on the children, who are very proud of their school.

If you feel there are issues which are unresolved, we would strongly encourage you to come and talk to us about them. We cannot resolve issues if we are unaware of them.

Our website details our complaints procedure and tells you who to talk to about concerns you may have.

We are all here to give your child the very best experience of school which we can provide and we welcome any feedback which helps us improve. In response to the survey results so far, and in addition to the usual complaints and concerns process, Mr Bright is offering three ‘surgery’ sessions over the coming weeks where you are welcome to drop in and share any issues which you feel need resolving:

    • Wednesday 13 September – 8:40-9:30am

    • Wednesday 20 September – 3:10-4:00pm (we can offer childcare for this session)

    • Monday 2 October – 8:40-9:30am

If you have any concerns, queries or positive comments, please do get in touch. We look forward to the opportunity to resolve any issues quickly and efficiently.

You can log into Parent View at any time and amend your responses, should you wish to: https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/.

We would also like to thank those parents who have left honest positive feedback. We aspire to be a school where all parents can feel they can recommend us to others.

    Thank you for your support.

    Mrs Burn and Mr Bright

Our Year 6 trip departed safely at 10am (Tuesday 5th September).

The drizzly weather didn't dampen the excitement of the children who are all looking forward to their week.

There is a Padlet blog of the week. Mr Simkin sent a link via Marvellous Me but if you didn't receive it, it can be found here: Brenscombe 2017 Blog.
