Dr Who competition & raffle winners

We have had some outstanding entries for the Dr Who art competition.

Jacqueline Rayner judged the competition and said the following:

This was a very difficult contest to judge, because there is so much that’s good in every single drawing – I loved them all. Congratulations to everyone who entered for showing so much creativity. But I finally decided…

THIRD PLACE: JENSEN P [Prize: £10 voucher]

What a brilliantly inventive monster! Coming up with new monsters for Doctor Who is really difficult, so this is impressive stuff. Those knifed fingers are terrifying! I think the Doctor would beat the Black Tongued Beast in the end because he always wins, but it’d be a close thing…

SECOND PLACE: EMILY S [Prize: £10 voucher]

A lovely, cheerful picture that captures part of the essence of the show by putting the Doctor in space. The drawing really invites you in – as does the Doctor, who seems to be saying ‘Come and have adventures!’ It makes me happy just to look at it.

FIRST PLACE: FLETCHER H [Prize: Signed copy of Twelve Doctors of Christmas]

Where to start?! The picture is beautiful to look at, and so cleverly made. It would be great for those things alone, but oh, that eye! There’s so much magic and mystery in it. It just draws you in, and it feels like a whole story’s been created in a single image. Wonderful stuff.

Well done to all those who took part.

The raffle winner for a signed copy of Magic of the Angels was Matilda O in 4PK.

Proceeds from the raffle purchased a library copy of Magic of the Angel and a 16 book set 'Time Lord Fairy Tales'.
