Mr Bright's paper plane worship
Mon 09 Oct 2017Today we talked about creativity in worship and used our skills of paper pane making to see how far we could make a sheet of paper travel.
While our volunteers we being creative, a few children had a go at a paper plane game which you can try here:

Mr Vacher's plane flew the farthest but Mr Bright screwed his piece of paper into a ball which flew further than all the planes... just proving that you can use your creative skills to achieve things in a completely different way to other people!

SEND Lighthouse performances for families this Autumn

We are very excited to be able to share with you information about our Relaxed, Captioned and Audio Described performances we have coming up this Autumn/Winter Season. Whether you are a regular attendee or a first time visitor, we hope to be able to welcome you to Lighthouse, Poole for some fantastic seasonal treats! Below is a little more information about the performances we offer and some details of the great family shows being displayed over the coming months.
Relaxed Performance (RP)
Relaxed performances are open to everyone, but the environment has been specifically adapted for families with children with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, individuals with sensory and communication impairments, those with learning disabilities and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment.
Captioned Performance (CP)
Captioning converts the spoken word into text, which is displayed on a caption unit situated on or next to the stage. As the words are spoken or sung the captioner sends the specially formatted script to the display unit.
Audio Described (AD)
Audio description is a live verbal commentary delivered during a performance, capturing the key visual elements such as actions and movements, gestures and facial expressions, sets, props and costumes. The description is relayed to the audience member through a lightweight headset which is supplied by the venue.
Personal Assistant support
If you are unable to access the performance without support from a carer or personal assistant, we offer a complimentary ticket for your support companion.

Great Odds is a story about identity, who we are and what we need to be to achieve our dreams. Exploring ambition, communication and friendship, the story follows The Great Odds; Marco, Grouch and Jewels, on an exciting and sometimes wobbly journey... Dreams change shape, unexpected things are uncovered and success comes through surprising discoveries.
Integrating visual storytelling, British Sign Language, live music, sound and puppetry, Mac's Arcadian presents Great Odds, its first production with partners Lighthouse Poole and Improbable.

Frantic Assembly PresentsThings I Know To Be True
As beautifully touching as it is funny and bold, Things I Know To Be True tells the story of a family and marriage through the eyes of four grown siblings struggling to define themselves beyond their parents’ love and expectations. Parents Bob and Fran have worked their fingers to the bone and with their four children grown and ready to fly the nest it might be time to relax and enjoy the roses. But the changing seasons bring home some shattering truths.
Featuring Frantic Assembly’s celebrated physicality, and co-directed by Frantic Assembly’s Tony and Olivier Award nominated Artistic Director Scott Graham and State Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Geordie Brookman, Things I Know To Be True is a complex and intense study of the mechanics of a family that is both poetic and brutally frank.

There’s only one way to find out...Perfect for ages 2 and beyond, this brand new show is chock full of puppets, music, comedy and thrills!
Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company’s 3 Little Pigs follows in the footsteps of The Little Red Hen, The Enormous Turnip, The Elves and The Shoemaker and The Hare and The Tortoise. Created in association with Salisbury Playhouse, with additional support from The Merlin Theatre and Tobacco Factory.

Poole’s magical family pantomime!
Starring Ethan Lawrence (Bad Education), Lucy Kay (Britain's Got Talent), Richard Gibson (Herr Flick from 'Allo, 'Allo) and Miles Western ... and featuring real ponies.
Cinderella is meeting the Prince at the Royal Ball but her cruel Ugly Sisters tear up her ticket. Baron Hardup and the loveable Buttons try to stop her tears but only the magical powers of her Fairy Godmother can get her to the Palace in a golden coach pulled by real ponies. However, she must leave close to midnight or her beautiful dress will turn to rags.
A pantomime full of knockabout laughter, spectacle, audience participation and the unexpected! From the makers of last year's inspired Aladdin.
Written and directed by Peter Duncan.
