Sports Reports

Cross County event 4 November 2021

Mrs Bonds reports...

"Can I just say how brilliant it was for Miss Pitkin and I to see this lovely lot progress brilliantly and improve on their placings, whilst showing fabulous sportsmanship and being modest about their efforts. Special mentions must go to Sa’ad who completed the course again and improved on his placing, but also to the incredible Josh N winner, yes WINNER of the Y5 cross Country event today (last time there were 11 schools completing and approx 105 Y5 runners - he was placed 3rd last time), plus Freddie W, winner, yes again WINNER of the Y6 cross Country (again 11 schools competing and approx 114 Y6 runners - he was placed 4th last time). Overall, we were placed 7th out of the 11 schools last time. I can’t wait to see how this has improved our overall standing... I feel ridiculously proud of them all"

Cross Country event 17 October

On a bright and sunny afternoon last week, children from years 4, 5 & 6 assembled at Littledown for the first Cross Country event of the season. After such a long time away from sports events like this, it was brilliant to see so many enthusiastic participants: we were one of 9 local schools who sent teams of runners to complete the 0.8 mile course (only half of this for the year 4 team though). The children really enjoyed having the chance to run with other schools and rose to the challenge to competing over the 2 lap course. The atmosphere was wonderfully encouraging and all were really proud of their accomplishments. A huge well done to all who took part.
